Dr. Rosie Phillips Bingham, vice president for Student Affairs, has been named a member of the Class of 2015 Pillars of the Profession by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.

The Intermodal Freight Transportation Institute (IFTI) has been awarded a four-year grant by the Federal Highway Administration to host the Southeast Regional Surface Transportation Workforce Center.

University of Memphis President M. David Rudd helped lead a research team that received the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS) Research Accomplishment Award (Academic Team) for 2014.

The University of Memphis has received a $1 million gift from the estate of Patricia T. Ring in support of the Ring Companies Chair in the Herff College of Engineering. The gift was made in honor of Bob Ring.

Washington Monthly magazine has ranked the University of Memphis 40th among 277 national colleges based on social mobility, research and service. The U of M is ranked fifth in the area of service staff, courses and financial aid support.

David Zettergren, vice president for Business and Finance, has been selected to receive the CFO of the Year Lifetime Achievement award by the Memphis Business Journal.

U.S. News and World Report has ranked three University of Memphis graduate programs among the top 20 in the nation in its 2015 Best College Rankings issue. Two programs in the U of M's School of Communication Sciences and Disorders achieved high ratings. Audiology is ranked No. 12 and Speech-Language Pathology is No. 15. Rehabilitation Counseling, a program in the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences, is listed at No. 17.

The website bestchoiceschools.com has ranked the University of Memphis' Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law 24th on its list of the "50 Most Impressive Law School Buildings in the World."

The University of Memphis has been named a recipient of the Healthier Tennessee Workplace Award. Healthier Tennessee is a state initiative which promotes healthy workplace conditions at businesses across Tennessee.

The University has been re-designated by the National Security Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. The designation covers academic years 2014-2021.

The Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law has been recognized by preLaw magazine as being a Best Value Law School for the sixth consecutive year.
