Program Cost: $1,300* (double room); $1,500* (single rooms). The program fee is due February 27, 2011 and has to be paid at the Study Abroad Office. After May 30, the Eichstätt program
fee is not refundable.

Faculty Program Leader: Dr. Robert Kelz, Assistant Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures
will lead the group to Eichstätt.
Eligibility and Space Available: Students in good standing at the University of Memphis; German majors/minors will
have first priority. (Program is limited to 8 participants).
Program Description: Katholische Universität Eichstätt. Eichstätt is a fairly small, beautiful city located
in Bavaria not far from WĂĽrzburg.This program provides a unique opportunity to advance
your language skills substantially, receive credit for your studies, and visit Germany
at a reasonable price - all at the same time!
Courses: Students will attend class Monday-Friday in the morning and afternoon for a total
of 80 contact hours = six credit hours.

Social Events:
- Official welcome reception in the “Spiegelsaal” of the Prince Bishop’s residence
- An afternoon in Ingolstadt
- Social gatherings
- Closing banquet
- Film screenings
- Optional evening courses in theatre and dance available (included)
Trips: 2 all-day cultural excursions to Bavarian sites (including Regensburg and Wuerzburg).
Housing and Board: Participants will stay in double or single occupancy rooms; breakfast is included
in the program fees; lunch and dinner are offered in the student cafeteria for about
$10 per day.
Program Fees and Refund Policy: The program fee is $1,300* or $1,500* depending on the room you select. The program
fee includes tuition at Eichstätt, room and breakfast, day trips, and extra programs
and application fee. The program fees do not include travel expenses (airfare from
Memphis to Munich is expected to be around $850 & train $100), lunch and dinner, health
insurance, personal expenses. Should the exchange rate go up, the tuition will be
adjusted. A non-refundable deposit of $350 is due by February 27, 2011 to secure your
place. Please submit you payment to the Study Abroad Office located at 102 Brister
Hall. If you are a U of M student, you can pay the deposit online here.
The program fees with the exception of the $350 application fee is refundable for
withdrawals before May 30. Withdrawals after May 30 will incur a charge of $500.
Withdrawals up to 20 days before the program will incur a charge of 50% of the program
fees. All other withdrawals within 20 days or less will incur a charge of 75% of the
program fees. In addition to these fees any unrecoverable expenses will be billed
to the student. Cancellations should be in writing and are only effective upon date
of receipt of written notification. Should the University decide to cancel the program,
there will be a full refund of all fees paid.
Additional Program Fee Policy for Non U of M or Non-Degree Seeking Applicants: Non-degree seeking students who are accepted to participate in a U of M program are
required to pay a non-refundable fee of $500. This will be applied toward the total
program fee. Full payment of your program fee is due two weeks prior to the official
program start date. No arrangement can be made for deferred payment.
Documents Required for Entry: Valid U.S. passport. If you do not have a passport, apply as soon as possible. Issuance
requires between four and six weeks. Apply at: www.travel.state.gov
Medical Insurance: Every participant will be issued an International Student Identity Card that provides
a basic insurance package (included in your fees). For those who desire more benefits,
there are other Trip-Safe insurance options possible.Important: Medical conditions
which require special medical care must be disclosed. This is for your protection.
