The University of Memphis study abroad programs are designed to provide students with
the opportunity to combine a rigorous academic program with a cross-cultural learning
experience that is not available in the United States.
We offer semester, academic year and summer programs in over 160 institutions in 40
countries to meet the diverse needs of the U of M student population.

- The Gilman Scholarship Program online application system is now open for students
participating in study abroad programs during either the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012
or 2012-2013 Academic Year terms. http://www.iie.org/en/Programs/Gilman-Scholarship-Program
- Congratulations to the three winners of a $1,000 Study Abroad scholarship from the
Spring Study Abroad Fair drawing: Jason Harris, Christine Lemons, and Jessica Swinger.
- IFSA-Butler has a new program to help first generation college students. The First Generation Scholars Program gives first generation college students significant financial, academic, and preprofessional
support for study abroad on a semester or year IFSA-Butler program. The program includes
up to $2,500 in reimbursements for expenses such as housing, meals, flight, student
visa and passport fees. The program also includes a resume building workshop, predeparture
support, specialized parent publications, and student blogs. Search for IFSA-Butler
programs on our program search to see a list of study opportunities that utilize this
funding.
- Globalinks, our new study abroad partner, offers many internship opportunities abroad.
