In an effort to accommodate students from neighboring counties in Arkansas and Mississippi, the University of Memphis will consider any student, who meets eligibility requirements, for in-state tuition. Please read the criteria below to determine if you may qualify for this waiver. Please note: The border county tuition waiver is determined primarily from information provided on the application for admission. Additional documentation may be requested from the Office of Admissions.

Undergraduate Applicants

• Document permanent residence in an eligible border county
• Meet academic requirements
• Obtain admission as a degree-seeking student

Graduate Applicants

• Document permanent residence in an eligible border county
• Obtain admission to the Graduate School

Law Applicants

• Document permanent residence in an eligible border county
• Information for Law Applicants

NOTE: Students on non-immigrant visas are not eligible for the Border County Tuition Waiver.
