Dual Admissions - Student Responsibilities

Students who fulfill the requirements of the DAP are guaranteed acceptance to University of Memphis.

  • Students must apply and be admitted to one of the participating colleges.
  • Students must complete an application for Dual Admission and a non-binding Intent-to-Enroll form that includes authorization for the exchange of all application and academic information between the participating college and the University of Memphis.
  • Students will provide two copies of all application materials to the participating college (official high school transcript or equivalent, official college transcripts if other colleges have been attended, and official ACT/SAT scores for applicants less than 21 years of age).
  • Student must complete University of Memphis application and pay the required application fee in order to enroll for courses at University of Memphis. International students may be subject to additional regulations and may be required to provide additional information.
  • Students must earn an A.S., A.A. or A.S.T. degree from one of the participating colleges. Students must complete their associates degree with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA as computed by the University of Memphis (2.75 for the A.S.T. Degree) to be in good standing in the Dual Admissions Program.
  • Any courses required for the major not completed at the participating college must be completed at University of Memphis to progress into the major. Students in the Dual Admissions Program who meet eligibility requirements are guaranteed admission to University of Memphis but not acceptance into any individual academic discipline which may have additional admission requirements.
  • Students must complete the Intent to Graduate form at the participating college.
  • Students must formally enroll in the University of Memphis within one year of the completion of the associate degree; otherwise they may re-apply as a transfer student.
  • Students who attend another institution between the time they graduate from a participating college and enroll at the University of Memphis must re-apply as a transfer student.
  • A student may withdraw from the Dual Admissions Program by providing a written statement to the participating college.
  • Students must re-apply to the Dual Admissions Program if there is a break of more than a year in their attendance.
  • Students must complete financial aid paperwork for University of Memphis prior to enrolling.

Terms of Ineligibility

  • Students are limited to participate in only one Dual Admissions Program at a time.
  • Failure to adhere to the eligibility provisions and students’ responsibilities of the Dual Admissions Program.
  • Notification by the participating college of the student’s withdrawal from the Dual Admissions Program. Students are limited to participate in only one Dual Admissions Program at a time.
