Phonathon Milestones

The University of Memphis Phonathon is a program designed to reach out on a personal and private manner with all of our alumni and friends. The Phonathon has up to 27 student callers a night and one student supervisor. On average, the Phonathon dials more than 60,000 phone numbers a month and actually speaks with around 3,000 people per month. As of the 2007 fiscal year, the Phonathon operates as a year-round program to ensure that contact is made with as many alumni and friends as possible.

Results like these require persistence and friendliness by the student callers.

Gifts made through the University of Memphis Phonathon help to offset the reductions in state support, offer scholarships to deserving students, attract and retain distinguished faculty, support University initiatives, and help where the need is greatest. All gifts to the University of Memphis ensure that the University continues to strive for excellence, add value to the degrees our alumni hold, and to advance its reputation.
