Vision
The vision of Advancement Services is to provide the University of Memphis and the
University of Memphis Foundation with relevant, high-quality information and analysis
in an effective and proactive manner to help build the foundation necessary to achieve
maximum private sector support for the University of Memphis.
Mission
The mission of Advancement Services is to ensure the responsible and ethical management
of alumni and donor information, as well as to provide information services and infrastructure
in support of fundraising and engagement activities for the University’s Division
of Advancement and the University of Memphis overall.
Responsibilities
Advancement Services supports the alumni and friends database and the overall University
Advancement fundraising and engagement activities with a focus on reporting, accessibility,
reliability, and accountability.
These support services include gift administration, stewardship and acknowledgement,
and the development, management and maintenance of alumni and donor constituent information
storage and delivery systems.
It is the responsibility of Advancement Services to safeguard all the information
collected by and resulting from the pursuit of the mission and goals of University
Advancement. Advancement Services continuously strives to improve systems and provide
the most relevant and useful information to its users.
Confidentiality of Alumni and Donor Information
Our alumni and donors' right to privacy is paramount. The University of Memphis and
the University of Memphis Foundation are committed to protecting the security and
confidentiality of information concerning our alumni and friends. We follow all applicable
federal and state laws and regulations as well as University policies and procedures and generally accepted professional ethics and standards governing the collection,
access, use and maintenance of information.
