Purpose:
To undertake a holistic examination of the adjunct faculty experience at The University of Memphis where areas examined will include teaching and learning experience, classroom policies & procedures, adjunct faculty professional development opportunities and provide valuable resources in these areas that impact adjunct faculty.

Mission: To provide a place for support, resources, and professional development opportunities fostering excellence in teaching and learning and a sense of community for adjunct faculty to feel a part of the larger University of Memphis community.

The Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Program (AFPDP) will provide various face to face and online workshops, networking opportunities, training sessions, mentor/mentee opportunities, grant research opportunities, professional certificate opportunities, and more. The University of Memphis’s adjunct faculty is a diverse pool of highly qualified individuals who have valuable academic and professional experience, and, who enhance the university’s cultural and intellectual wealth.

The University of Memphis values and appreciates the expertise adjunct faculty bring to the classroom and their flexibility to help out and teach at so many different times and places and in so many different formats.
