Venitra D. Hollingsworth joined The University of Memphis as an Instructional Technology
Specialist in 2000. Since the creation of the Advanced Learning Center, she now works
as an Academic Technology Consultant. Her primary duties include consulting and advising
faculty in the best practice of integrating instructional technologies into their
teaching and learning environment. She also provides training and support to faculty
as well as to staff and students in various technology applications. She serves as
the Program Coordinator for the Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Program.
Venitra also works as an adjunct professor in several departments across campus as
well as an online instructor for a community college.
Prior to coming to The University of Memphis, Venitra worked as technology trainer
and program assistant for a Workforce Education Development program in Jackson, MS.
A native of Mississippi, she received her BS degree in Educational Psychology and
a MS degree in Instructional Technology from Mississippi State University.
