2009 Golf Tournament

The Fogelman College of Business & Economics Alumni Chapter hosted the 2009 Summer Golf Tournament on Friday, June 26 at Galloway Golf Course.  Proceeds benefited the FCBE Alumni Chapter’s Building Renovation Fund.  Thank you to all of the teams and sponsors for a fun and successful day! The FCBE Alumni Chapter's 17th annual FCBE Alumni Day Luncheon was held on Wednesday, October 28 at the Holiday Inn, University of Memphis.  The keynote speaker was B. Lane Carrick (BS '03), Chairman and CEO of Sovereign Wealth Management and Chairman of Triumph Bank.  Outstanding Alumnus of the Year was Ben Watkins (BBA '78), Member of Watkins Uiberall, PLLC.  Outstanding Young Alumna was Chris Chu (BBA '00), Co-Founder/Strategic Sales of EVS Corporation.  Entrepreneur of the Year was Gary Wunderlich (MBA '95), Chief Executive Officer of Wunderlich Securities.  Distinguished Friend of the College was Joseph DeVivo, East President, Orthopaedics of Smith & Nephew, Inc. Click here to view photos.

Thank you for joining the FCBE Alumni Chapter at our 16th annual Alumni Day luncheon on Wednesday, October 29 at the Holiday Inn, University of Memphis. Our keynote speaker was Dr. William Evans, CEO of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Wei Chen (IMBA ’98), Chinese-born logistics entrepreneur was this year’s Entrepreneur of the Year. Dan Palmer (BBA ’66), former CEO of Concord EFS Incorporated was this year’s Outstanding Alumnus of the College, and David Sullivan (BS ’64), Chairman of Sullivan Investments, LLC and a member of the Board of Directors for Choice Hotels received this year’s Distinguished Friend of the College award.  To view pictures, click here.

2007
Our 15^th Annual Alumni Day luncheon was on Wednesday, October 17 on campus at the Holiday Inn, University of Memphis.  Debbi Fields-Rose, of Mrs. Fields Cookies, was our keynote speaker.  Eric Bolton, President and CEO of Mid-America Apartment Communities, a long-time supporter and graduate of Fogelman was honored as Outstanding Alumnus of the College. Carolyn Hardy, majority owner of Hardy Bottling received the honor of Entrepreneur of the Year.

MILE Program

The FCBE and the FCBE Alumni Chapter enjoyed a reception and short information presentation in May, learning about the MILE Business Leadership Mentoring Program, hosted at Owen Brennan's. Women in Business: Taking it to the Next Level

The FCBE Alumni Chapter hosted a panel discussion in May at First Tennessee Bank, Women in Business: Taking it to the Next Level. Speakers included Kim Cherry (SVP Corporate Communications, First Horizon National Corporation), Carol Chumney (Attorney, Former City Councilwoman, City of Memphis), Karen Parris (Sr. VP of Quality Assurance & Associate Education, ServiceMaster), and Monica Skipper (Marketing Manager, Global Brand Management, FedEx Services Solutions and Technology).
