Mentorship Mixer
The Journalism Alumni Club hosted a Mentorship Mixer on Thursday, September 10 at the Alumni Center. All Journalism alumni, students, faculty and friends were delighted to hear Kristee Bell, Director of MemphisConnect with the Leadership Academy speak. Click here to see pictures from the event.
Watch Party
The Journalism Alumni Club hosted a basketball Watch Party in early February as the Tigers beat Gonzaga. A group of Journalism alums cheered the Tigers on to victory from Patrick's in east Memphis.

The Journalism Alumni Club hosted its annual Mentorship Mix and Mingle on Monday, March 31 at the Alumni Center. Special guests included retiring faculty members, Dr. Jim Redmond and Dr. Elinor Grusin (B.A. '62), and University Provost, Dr. Ralph Faudree.

The 2008 Outstanding Journalism Alumni Awards Banquet was held on October 16 at The Racquet Club of Memphis. The Club honored Walter Leavy (BA ’75) and Paul Jewell (BA ’78) with the Charles E. Thornton Awards. Deanie Parker (BPS ’77, MPA ’88) was presented the Herbert Lee Williams Award.

The 2007 Outstanding Alumni Awards Banquet was held on October 18. Michael Finger, of Contemporary Media, and Lynne Rooker, of Chandler Ehrlich, were honored with Charles E. Thornton Awards, while Bob Winn, of the University of Memphis Athletics Department, was presented with Herbert Lee Williams Award.
All funds raised from the banquet were placed into a scholarship fund, as the Journalism Club works toward the establishment of an endowed Journalism Alumni Scholarship.
