Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter Homecoming Step Show
The Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter joined in the Homecoming fun with its
annual Alumni Step Show showcasing stepping skills of current students and returning alumni. Proceeds benefit
the LCM Scholarship Fund.
Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter Homecoming Party
After the Step Show, members of the LCM Alumni Chapter met at 409 South Main for an
afterparty. Proceeds benefit the LCM Scholarship Fund.
Luther C. McClellan Alumni Chapter Scholarship Presentation
Members of the LCM Alumni Chapter attended the Black History Month Closing Ceremony
on February 28 featuring guest speaker U.S. Attorney Ed Stanton (BA '94, JD '97) and
announced the winners of the 2011 Luther C. McClellan Alumni Chapter Scholarship recipients.
The 2011 recipients are Joya Smith (Senior) and Rachel Anderson (Junior).

The Luther C. McClellan Alumni Chapter co-hosted a Masquerade Party with Brother's
Inc. at the Memphis Botanic Garden after the Homecoming game. Proceeds benefit the
LCM Scholarship Fund.

Luther C. McClellan Alumni Chapter Scholarship Recipients
The University of Memphis Alumni Association Luther C. McClellan Chapter awards two
annual scholarships to deserving minority students who have shown outstanding academic
achievement, leadership qualities, and community involvement. Each student who receives
a scholarship receives an award in the amount of $500 for the school year. The 2011
recipients are senior Joya Smith and junior Rachel Anderson.
Joya is the current University of Memphis Homecoming Queen and Rachel is the President
of Black Scholars Unlimited. Congratulations to Joya and Rachel, and thanks to everyone
who applied!
