Tiger Basketball Watch Party
The LCM Black Alumni Chapter joined the Memphis Urban League of Young Professionals
to cheer on our Tigers against the Tennessee Volunteers at Fox & Hound in January.

The LCM Black Alumni Chapter joined in the Centennial Homecoming fun with its annual
Alumni Step Show showcasing stepping skills of current students and returning alumni

LCM Alumni Chapter Wine & Cheese Reception
The LCM Alumni Chapter hosted a reception to congratulate recent graduates and welcome
the newest Black Alumni to the Chapter. Guests learned more about the Chapter's activities
and how they could stay involved with the University after graduation.
Luther C. McClellan Alumni Chapter Mixer
Members of the LCM Alumni Chapter met at Marmalade Restaurant & Lounge in March to
network and socialize with fellow Black Alumni.
Luther C. McClellan Alumni Chapter Scholarship Presentation
Members of the LCM Alumni Chapter attended the Black History Month Closing Ceremony
on February 29 featuring guest speaker Deanie Parker (BPS '77, MPA '88), retired CEO
and President of STAX Museum. The Chapter announced the winners of the 2012 Luther
C. McClellan Alumni Chapter Scholarship recipients. The 2012 recipients are Frederick Hampton, Jr. (sophomore biomedical engineering major) and Charnita Heard (sophomore political science major).

Luther C. McClellan Alumni Chapter Scholarship Recipients
The University of Memphis Alumni Association Luther C. McClellan Chapter awards two
annual scholarships to deserving minority students who have shown outstanding academic
achievement, leadership qualities, and community involvement. Each student who receives
a scholarship receives an award in the amount of $500 for the school year. The 2012
recipients are Frederick Hampton, Jr., sophomore biomedical engineering major, and Charnita Heard, sophomore political science major. Congratulations to Frederick and Charnita, and thanks to everyone who applied!
