Recent Music Society Events
Jam Session The Alumni Association’s Music Society hosted a Jam Session is mid-September at the Memphis Drum Shop. The event, which was open to all recent Music graduates and Alumni Association members, was an evening full of enjoying live jazz music from some of the mid-south's outstanding musicians. Jazz Week Reception The Music Society celebrated The Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music’s Jazz Week in early March with a complimentary Wine and Cheese Reception that was followed by a performance by famed jazz musician Joyce Cobb with the Southern Comfort Jazz Orchestra and U of M Jazz Ensemble II. Fall Reception The Music Society held its second-annual Fall Wine & Cheese Reception and Performance last November. Nearly 25 alumni and friends enjoyed wine, cheese, fellowship and a performance by the U of M Jazz Combos. Stay tuned for information about the Music Society’s spring reception and performance, as well as future events.
