Scholarship

UMAR is now accepting applications for its 2013-14 scholarship. The deadline for applications is Monday, April 15.

The University of Memphis Association of Retirees (UMAR) Scholarship is a one time award in the amount of $1000 for the academic year (fall/spring) and is not renewable for the following year. Priority will be given to dependents (children or grandchildren) of UMAR members or dependents of currently employed University of Memphis faculty and staff. The requirements are as follows:

• Current full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours) at The University of Memphis
• Completion of at least two (2) full years of study (at least junior status) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
• Demonstrated leadership in University activities
• Recommendation (by letter), preferably from a current or former university faculty or staff member.

Qualified students may complete the UMAR Scholarship Application. It must be signed, dated and returned to:
