Join YOUR University of Memphis Alumni Association for a True Blue Pep Rally on Friday, March 16, at 5 pm ET in Columbus, OH at the LC Pavilion before our Tigers take on the Saint
Louis Billikens at 6:50 pm ET. There will be complimentary food, soft drinks and a
cash bar. You won't want to miss appearances by the Mighty Sound of the South, the
cheer squad, Pouncer, U of M President Dr. Shirley Raines, and Athletic Director R.C.

On Monday, March 19, at noon, UMAR will hear Rabbi Micah Greenstein speak as part of the Calvary Lenten Preaching Series. After Rabbi Greenstein’s presentation, we will enjoy lunch in the church’s “Waffle

On Tuesday, April 3, at 9 am, the UMAR Breakfast Bunch will gather at the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery located in the Eastgate Shopping Center,
at 5112 Park Avenue. This group meets for a casual breakfast on the first Tuesday
of every month at 9 am. All UMAR members and U of M retirees are welcome. The cost

On Thursday, April 19, UMAR will hold a once-in-a-lifetime Centennial Reunion for retired faculty and staff. Celebrate and reminisce with your colleagues and friends
at this special event. Registration and reception begins at 5 pm followed by dinner
and a “readers theater” program at 6:15 pm in the University Center Ballroom. All
retirees and current U of M employees are invited to attend. Tickets are $30 per person

Engineering Alumni Chapter
On Tuesday, March 20, at 12 noon in the Alumni Center, the Engineering Alumni Chapter will host a Professional Development Luncheon. Tom Wyatt, an Engineering faculty member, will present "Engineering Ethics: A Primer."
The cost is $5 for Alumni Association members and $10 for not-yet members. Lunch will
be provided, and a certificate will be issued to attendees for one professional development

On Tuesday, April 3, at 6:30 pm, the Engineering Chapter will present its Outstanding Alumni Awards at the Herff College of Engineering’s annual awards banquet at the Holiday Inn on
campus. As part of the Chapter’s celebration of the University’s Centennial, all previous
recipients of this award will be welcomed back for special recognition at this event.

The University College Alumni Chapter is seeking nominations for its Outstanding Alumni

Save the Date: The University College Alumni Chapter’s bi-annual Awards Dinner and Silent Auction will be held on Thursday, May 10, at 6 pm in the Fogelman Executive Center. The Chapter’s

this event, and auction proceeds benefit the Chapter's book scholarship. As part of

MPA Alumni Club
On Saturday, March 31, at 9 am, the MPA Club will participate in the Memphis Inter-Faith Association’s
13th annual Day of Reflection and Service by volunteering for the “artistic board up” project which covers the windows of depressed
Memphis properties with plywood sheets painted to look like window panes. All MPA
alumni, students and friends are welcome to participate. Wear clothes that can get
dirty. No open-toed shoes. Each volunteer should bring work gloves and a two-inch
paint brush. Parking is at the Memphis Food Bank parking lot (corner of East & Linden).

Education Alumni Chapter
The College of Education, Health and Human Sciences Alumni Chapter will honor exceptional
faculty and alumni from our 100 year history at the Education Hall of Fame Reception on Tuesday, April 17, at 6 pm in the Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway Hall of Fame. Mark your calendars to join
us for this historic event, the proceeds of which will go to establish the Alumni
Chapter’s Centennial Scholarship. There will be cocktails and hors d'oevres. The cost

Arts & Sciences Alumni Chapter
The Department of Anthropology is hosting a weekend-long Alumni Reunion to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of our Master of Arts program and the University
of Memphis Centennial, on April 20-22. The reunion will kick off Friday evening, with a free wine and cheese reception
at Jack Robinson Gallery. Saturday will be a free full day conference highlighting
the program’s history and the accomplishments of alumni and faculty, followed by a
Moroccan-themed gala at the Peabody Skyway. The reunion will conclude with a farewell

The Department of English alumni and faculty is celebrating the University’s Centennial with 100 Books for 100 Years, a program to highlight the literary history of the Department. Featured books will
include those written by alumni and faculty throughout the Department’s long history.

Tiger Tour and Nashville Golf Tournament

Memphis for the Spring 2012 Tiger Tour featuring appearances by Josh Pastner, U of M men's head basketball coach, Justin Fuente, U of M head football coach, Melissa McFerrin, U of M women's head basketball coach, and other coaches and athletic administration.
The Nashville Alumni Club will host a Golf Tournament on Tuesday, April 24, at the Gaylord Springs Golf Course before the Tiger Tour Reception that evening.

Art Museum Centennial Project
The University's Art Museum is seeking alumni participation for its Centennial Project. The Art Museum (AMUM) has invited artists Sheryl Oring
and Dhanraj Emanuel (MFA ’03) for a series of interactive, public art performances,
which will be held Tuesday, March 20, through Thursday, March 22 from noon to 2 pm on the University’s Student Plaza. Participants will be asked,
"what do you think the University could be?" A crew of typists in 1960s garb will
record responses on postcards to be included in the Centennial exhibition "Alma Mater:
Univeristy of Memphis," opening at the Art Museum on June 30 and running through September.
