Alumni Association Spotlight: Reynae Bennett (EMSN '10)
Mississippi’s 2011 Nurse of the Year is Loewenberg School of Nursing alumna Reynae Bennett (EMSN ’10). After only a few moments with Reynae, you can clearly sense her heart
for nursing and passion for leadership.
Reynae began her career as a nurse in 1981. After several years of service in the
Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation, she earned her BSN from the Baptist College
of Health Sciences. Poised for growth within Baptist, Reynae began the Executive Master
of Science in Nursing (EMSN) degree program at the U of M in 2008.
As a graduate of the program’s first cohort, Reynae gained confidence in her knowledge
of leadership and inspiration from her classmates and professors to make strategic
career moves. Reynae is now in the “job of [her] dreams” as a Leadership Coach for
Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation, where she helps nurse managers develop in
their positions through formal mentoring and career development opportunities.
