Journalism Alumni Club
The Journalism Alumni Club will host its annual Outstanding Alumni Awards this year on Friday, October 18.  Registration will begin at 11 am followed by the program at 11:30 am.  Individual tickets are $35, and a table of 10 will be $300.  Honorees include: Mark Henry (BA '82), Bonnie Kourvelas (BA '81), Dan Lattimore and Angela Craig (BA '94). Hispanic Alumni Council
The Hispanic Alumni Council will host a mixer and scholarship fundraiser on Saturday, October 19, at 6 pm at the Rumba Room. The cost is $10 per ticket. The event is cocktail attire and includes free salsa/merengue lessons from a licensed instructor, music, dancing and buffet-style dining. Lambuth Alumni Chapter
Lambuth alumni are encouraged to join us before the Tiger football game on Saturday, October 19, at the True Blue Tailgate in Tiger Lane. Lambuth Alumni and Jackson area Tiger fans are welcome to join us for True Blue Day on Saturday, October 26, at the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus. Meet Coach Josh Pastner, honor Lambuth graduates from 1963 and Outstanding Alumni and enjoy great music and food. Susan Richardshon Hudacek and Tim Goldsmith will be honored as the 2013 Lambuth Outstanding Alumni. We are also pleased to honor Gene Smith as the Distinguished Friend of Lambuth. Student Ambassador BoardUMAR
On Tuesday, October 22, UMAR’s Garden Club will meet at the Cordova Library to hear Master Gardner David Fuchs speak about fall bulbs and mini-bulbs. On the first Tuesday of each month, the UMAR Breakfast Bunch gathers at 9 am for a casual breakfast at the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery located in the Eastgate Shopping Center, at 5112 Park Avenue. The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 5. All UMAR members and U of M retirees are welcome. The cost of breakfast is on your own.

Parent of the Year Applications
U of M students are invited to nominate parents or guardians whose lives have been an inspiration to their student and others as the 2013 Parent of the Year. Winners must be able to participate in Homecoming Parade and Game on Saturday, November 9, beginning at 10:00 am. Winners will receive on-field recognition during the game and two game tickets will be provided. The deadline for submissions is 4:00 pm on Friday, October 25. Nominators will be notified by Friday, November 1, if their nominee was selected as the winner. Download a nomination form

Pouncer's Pals
On Saturday, October 26, Pouncer's Pals will host Pouncer's Spooky Soccer Trick-or-Treat before the Men's Soccer Game at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex (9000 E. Shelby Drive). Wear your best costume to take part in the Costume Parade and Contest on the field at halftime. Prizes will be given to the best costume and best family/group costume. Help us break a Guinness World Record!
Join the Alumni Association, Blue Crew, Student Ambassador Board, FAM and Healthy U for the "Dying To Be Healthy" Midday Moves event on Tuesday, October 29, at 12:30 pm on the University Alumni Mall. The entire university and local community is invited to participate as we break the world record for the most people doing sit ups at one time in one place. For more information click here. Follow the Blue Crew Zombie Patrol to the event and then enjoy a “Thriller” dance performance. On Wednesday October 30, at 5 pm the Blue Crew will host the Student Tailgate on Tiger Lane at the Liberty Bowl. Wear your best Halloween costume to compete in the Costume Contest! True Blue TailgateArts & Sciences Alumni Chapter

MPA Alumni club

The time and location of the Parade and Pep Rally will be different this year! The parade will kick off in Tobey Park at 10:00 am and make its way into Tiger Lane.
