Alumni Association's Homecoming Pep Rally

Continue the Homecoming celebration at the Association's Pep Rally on Friday, September 23,
6:30 pm with special guests Coach Larry Porter (BSEd '96) and the recipients of the True
Blue Tradition Award (awarded annually to those who have made significant contributions
to creating and continuing traditions at the U of M) and the Parent of the Year Award
(presented to parents of current students through a nomination process - click here to download a nomination form). Food provided from the Thomas Boggs (BA '72) Family
of Huey's Restaurants. Drinks provided by Pepsi. Located at the end of the parade
route at the Plaza Fountain near the Administration Building. Parking is available
at the Southern Ave. and Central Ave. parking lots.

2011 Parent of the Year
The University of Memphis Alumni Association Parents Club invites students to nominate
parents or guardians whose lives have been an inspiration to their student and others
as the 2011 Parent of the Year. CLICK HERE to download a nomination form. The deadline has been extended to Friday, September 16.
All parents who are nominated by their students will receive a congratulatory letter
and a copy of the essay submission. Winners must be able to participate in the Homecoming
Parade and Pep Rally on Friday, September, 23 at 5:30 pm and recognition during the
Homecoming game on Saturday, September 24 (kick off is 11:00 am at Liberty Bowl Memorial
Stadium). Game tickets will be provided.
Nominators will be notified by Monday, September 19, if their nominee was selected
as a winner.
Class of 1961 Reunion activities
Friday, September 23, 9:30 am
The Alumni Association will honor the Class of 1961 on Friday, September 23 with a variety of activities throughout the day. Class of 1961 members are invited
to a Meet and Greet at the Alumni Center, Brunch at the home of U of M President Shirley
Raines, followed by a guided campus tour and a Golden Reception at the Alumni Center.
The cost is $35 per person. Reservations required by contacting Alumni Coordinator

Half Century Club Reception

Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter Homecoming Step Show

The Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter will join in the Homecoming 2011 fun
with their annual Alumni Step Show showcasing stepping skills of current students and returning alumni on Friday, September 23 in the Rose Theatre. The cost is $10 for Alumni Association members and students
(with Membership Card or Student ID) and $15 for not-yet-members. Proceeds benefit
the LCM Scholarship Fund.
Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter Homecoming Party

Join the Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter for a Homecoming Party. Admission
is $10 for Alumni Association members, $15 for the not-yet-members, and $20 for everyone
after midnight. Proceeds benefit the LCM Scholarship Fund.
