Kuna women and omekits (transgender males) sew and design molas, traditional blouses
for women and girls. Mola designers observe the world around them and create designs
from their imagination and dreams. In 1968, anthropologist Clyde Keeler noted that
when a design becomes popular, "..other women copy it, and it sweeps the San Blas
coast like a song hit in the U.S."
