“Caught 11”
lithograph
Gorazd Sefran is a painter and printmaker who employs and manipulates photography
in his work. He studied in Ljubljana before completing graduate work in Nuremburg.
Sefran’s enigmatic images derive from the graveyard near his childhood home, where
he would see the accumulation of forgotten casket covers, shovels, work gloves, and
dessicated bouquets. Suspended in a dark nowhere, the pile of these objects become
a fleeting memento mori.
