An important aspect of Jerry Rudquist’s career for over forty years was his anti-war
images, drawings, prints and paintings focused closely on bone fragments. He was also
admired as a colorist, portrait painter and composer of gentle satirical takes on
contemporary life. Rudquist spent much of his life in Minneapolis where he graduated
from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1956. He earned his MFA at Cranbrook
Academy of Art in Michigan before returning to teach at Macalister College.
