Department graduate and undergraduate students established the Anthropology Student
Club to exchange information and discuss common interests in a supportive environment.
In past years, the student club organized an array of scholarly events and diverse
social events. The Club plays an active role in Departmental activities, including
the Advances in Anthropology Speakers Series. A faculty member serves in an advisory
capacity to assist the club with the planning and preparation of special events.
Past special events include: Behind-the-scenes tours at area museums, tours of historic
Elmwood Cemetery and other major sites, faculty and student colloquia, faculty search
presentations, film series, careers in Anthropology workshops, Anthropology Club t-shirts
fundraiser, conference presentation preparation, participation in special events such
as the Annual Relic Run at Chucalissa, departmental fundraisers and neighborhood clean-ups.
We also host a numerous social gatherings such as picnics, dinner outings, and happy
hour celebrations.
