The University of Memphis is a comprehensive urban university committed to scholarly accomplishments of students and faculty and to the enhancement of the community, state, and nation. The Department of Art has many resources available to both faculty and students.

The University of Memphis museums house permanent and changing exhibits that reflect where we've been and where we're going.

The Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology, founded in 1984, is a component of the Department of Art and is a Tennessee Center of Excellence. It is dedicated to the study of the art and culture of ancient Egypt through teaching, research, exhibition, and community education.
