D2L (aka eLearn) iPhone app
Labguru (studnet research resource/free) *apple or web
The free iPad app mentioned (called Labguru) formats experimental protocols to prevent
mistakes while multitasking. For instance, countdown timers are matched to specific
steps, tapping marks steps completed, and notes about results and deviations from
the protocol sync to the experiment's spot in the paired web app so that nothing is
forgotten or misplaced. The web app (1) helps organize data, emails, notes, and references
so that paper writing and progress reports are less stressful and (2) helps students
understand and plan experiments in context of a long-term research vision. It's only
on the web, so the interface is modern+simple and is free for individuals.
