All requests MUST be submitted via software.memphis.edu

Requests submitted after the deadline will be considered for the next period.

Reminders will not be sent out, please put in your request as the need arises rather than wait for the deadline to approach.

As faculty of the University of Memphis, you are eligible to request the Technology Access Fees to make purchases.

The Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines for use of TAF funds are:
The TAF should be used by TBR institutions for direct student benefit, for items such as new and improved high technology laboratories and classrooms, appropriate network and software, computer and other equipment, and technological improvements that enhance instruction.

The procedure for TAF requests is as follows:
  1. Electronic TAF Requests are submitted via this website.
  2. Requests are compiled and reviewed by Information Technology.
  3. Requests are sent to Deans who will approve or deny them.
  4. Faculty are notified via email regarding a request's approval.
  5. ITD begins purchasing TAF requests.
  6. Software purchases become available via Softgrid for the upcoming semester.

TAF REQUESTING TIMELINE

Software requests may be submitted anytime but will only be reviewed according to the schedule below. Hardware requests will be reviewed March 15 and November 15.

Computers purchased with Technology Access Fee (TAF) funds for use in student computer laboratories are to be made available to faculty, to non-TAF student labs, and to other constructive instructional purposes after their use in TAF labs.  When TAF computers are replaced in TAF labs, the older computers are to be assigned according to the following scheme on a priority basis as determined by the Deans TAF Committee:  1) Full-time faculty or non-TAF student computer labs; 2) Teaching Assistants & Research Assistants; 3) Adjunct Faculty with campus offices; or 4) Retired Faculty with teaching responsibilities.
