Clearing your Java cache

Often it is necessary to clear your java cache either to unjumble Banner or Matrix or some other web application.

To do so:

To fix this problem all JAVA CACHE must be cleared.

1. You MUST exit from ALL browsers (including this browser display window). All java icons in the Windows TRAY should disappear.
2. Mouse to the Windows START button
3. Select CONTROL PANEL
4. Select the first JAVA icon (if more JAVA icons exist, repeat the following steps for each)
5. The JAVA CONTROL PANEL will open. ( Note: Not all JAVA CONTROL PANELS are exactly alike. )
6. • At the bottom of the GENERAL TAB is the TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES box
   • Click "Settings..." button in the "Temporary Internet Files" section. A new "Temporary File Settings" window will open.
   • Click "Delete Files..." button. A new "Delete Temporary Files" window will open.
   • Ensure that ALL options are selected then SELECT OK
   • Exit the Java Control Panel by clicking the "OK" button for each window until all are closed.

Note: If more JAVA icons exist in CONTROL PANEL, repeat the process described in step five for each Java in the Control Panel list.

Instructions for clearing the java cache on a Mac.

1. Go to the /Applications/Utilities/Java directory.
2. Open the Java x.xx Plugin Settings application (x.xx is your plugin version).
3. Click on the Cache menu section.
4. (For Java 1.3.x plugin) Click on the Clear JAR Cache button. Click OK.
5. (For Java 1.4.x plugin) Click on the Clear button. Click Yes to confirm.
