Academic Awards

Student-athletes are eligible to receive a variety of academic awards while competing as student-athletes at the University of Memphis. The academic awards include, but are not limited to:

CAAS Awards

Tiger 3.0 Club, an award that recognizes Memphis student-athletes who earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher for a particular semester.

Tiger Academic Thirty, an award that honors student-athletes with the best grade-point average on each team (minimum 3.0 GPA) and then the next best group of athletes, totaling 30 student-athletes.

Team GPA Award, an award that honors the male and female team with the best grade-point average for the semester.

CAAS Study Hall Awards, a monthly recognition program that honors all student-athletes participating in study hall who demonstrate a Commitment to Achieving Academic Success.

CAAS Achievement Award, a yearly award designed to honor a student-athlete who has overcome personal hardship and/or showed marked improvement in terms of their academic performance over the previous academic year.

Conference USA Awards

(All CUSA Academic Awards are recognized during the spring semester.)

CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll, an award given for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the completion of the fall semester.

CUSA Academic Medal, an award given for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher at the completion of the fall semester.

CUSA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, an award given to only one Conference USA student-athlete per sport for academic, athletic and service excellence.

CUSA All Academic Team, an award given to top student-athletes in each sport as determined by Conference USA at the time of each sport's conference championship.

CUSA Postgraduate Award, an award given to only twelve senior Conference USA athletes per year. The recipient is given a one-time scholarship of $4,000.

Additional Awards

CoSIDA Academic All-America, an award that nationally recognizes student-athletes for outstanding accomplishments on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, students must participate in at least 50% of competitions and maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA.
