Shedrick is in his first year as the Academic Counselor at the University of Memphis,
where he works with the Football team.
Prior to his position at University of Memphis, Shedrick worked as an Scholastic Supervisor
for Texas A&M University Athletic Department. In that position, he was responsible
for the oversight of all academic support services for the men's basketball team.
In addition to this, he served as a representative for the University Academic Counselor at Texas A&M University. Before joining Texas A&M in 2010, Shedrick also worked as
an Graduate Assistant at the University of Arkansas. In that position his duties included:
counseling and serving as a mentor for student-athletes, maintaining accurate student-athlete
records to monitor compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
eligibility requirements, developing relationships with high profile coaches, athletics
staff and institution departments to maximize the opportunity for student-athletes
to achieve academic success.
Shedrick lettered four years in football as a defensive back at the University of
Arkansas. Johnson was part of the Cotton Bowl in 2008, SEC Western Division Champs
in 2007 and Capital One Bowl in 2007. He was the Scholar Athlete of the Year, at the
University of Arkansas in 2008.
He is married to the former Candice Rangel and they have two lovely children, Mya (7)
and Nia (2). Both Shedrick and his wife are natives of Texas. Shedrick is a member
of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.
