Education Career Fair



The Education Career Fair connects recruiters with top University of Memphis talent in a variety of programs including K-12 Education, Special Education, Education Administration, Counseling and more. The Education Career Fair is open to current UofM students and alumni with an Alumni TigerLink account.

A professional resume is important to career fair success. A well-developed resume will show recruiters you are serious about your career and internship search. Attend one of our Resume Workshops to get your resume Tiger Talent Ready!

Research, research, research! You likely won't get to visit all the employers at the event. Create a plan by viewing the list of registered employers first, then identify those you wish to connect with most.. Spend some time researching the company and most recent news about their industry.

Make a GREAT first impression! Dress the part and wear business professional attire. It will set you apart. Practice your elevator pitch (brief introduction) and handshake to use upon approaching recruiters at the fair. Example: Hi, I'm Steve Jobs, a junior Computer Science major interested in applying my software programming skills in SQL and Java in a cutting-edge industry like transportation. What are some opportunities at your company?


  • Have your UofM student ID out and ready for easy check-in.
  • Grab a map of employers and locate the organizations you researched earlier.
  • Keep your resumes neat and clean in a professional portfolio.
  • Store your backpack before entering the fair. Career Services is not responsible for backpacks left unattended.
  • Turn off your phone and do not use it while meeting recruiters.
  • Open the conversation with your elevator pitch and a firm handshake.
  • Offer your resume and request a business card for follow up
  • Ask recruiters about the online application process as some cannot accept hard copy resumes
  • Keep an open mind to companies not on your target list
  • Share your feedback with Career Services. Volunteers will ask you to complete an evaluation upon exiting the fair.
  • After the fair, send follow up emails to recruiters you met. Thank them for attending and express your interest in the organization and positions. This is a great way to stand out!




Employers: $150
Registration includes 6ft table, employer hospitality room and parking for up to three registered attendees. Four or more attendees will be additional $10 each. After date TBD, add $25 to the registration fee.

A full refund will be honored if cancellation is made via email by date TBD. Cancellations after this date are non-refundable. Additionally, no-shows are non-refundable/non-transferable. Please let us know immediately if you need to cancel. We appreciate your consideration.



We welcome and encourage faculty partnership to bring greater emphasis to student career readiness and preparing them to be successful in life beyond UofM. Below are some strategies you may find helpful in promoting the Career Fair.

  • Incorporate career fair attendance into your syllabi for extra credit.

  • Create an assignment for students to research participating employers.

  • Bring your class to meet professionals in their desired career field and discuss internship and career opportunities (business professional dress is required and attendance by upper level classes preferred).

  • Invite Career Services to your class to give a brief presentation.

  • Promote the career fair through your internal student communication channels (i.e., Social Media, Blogs, eCourseware, etc.). Download the flyer here.

  • Emphasize the importance of business professional dress standards.

  • If you have partnerships with companies in your field of study, please connect them with Career Services. We'd love to have them participate in the Career Fair.
