The Suit Yourself program is open to current students at the University of Memphis who:

  • Are currently enrolled at the University of Memphis with a minimum of six (6) credit hours.
  • Are Pell-eligible and/or have a demonstrated financial need (demonstrated financial need includes students who are Pell grant-eligible or who are experiencing a financial hardship that would present a significant challenge in obtaining appropriate professional attire).
  • Plans to participate in an upcoming job interview, career fair or internship.
  • Available to attend a JCPenney in-store shopping experience.

Requirements

Students must submit an online application and a completed resume approved by Career Services or the Avron B. Fogelman Professional Development Center. In addition, each student must meet 2 out of 4 key criteria listed below with signed verification of participation (use Selected Workshop Checklist link below) at least two weeks prior to qualify for the Suit Yourself Program.

  • Criteria #1: Faculty/staff recommendation
  • Criteria #2: Attendance at selected on-campus Leadership Development Workshop
  • Criteria #3: Attendance at selected on-campus Professional Development/Business Etiquette Workshop
  • Criteria #4: Attendance at a selected Dress for Success Workshop

All Selected Workshop Checklist forms below with staff signatures should be submitted to Office of Career Services located on the 4th floor of Wilder Tower.

Selected students must attend a Suit Yourself Program Orientation.  Information regarding this will be provided in the acceptance letter.

STEP1: HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR RESUME FOR REVIEW

  1. Login to TigerLink at http://memphis-csm.symplicity.com with your UUID and password
  2. If you have never logged in, you must answer a few profile questions and acknowledge the Policy Affirmation.
  3. From the Home page, select 'Documents' on the left navigation menu.
  4. Click on the "Opt-in Books" tab.
  5. Access the non-Lambuth Campus Resume Book that appears in the list.
  6. *College of Business students with a resume approved by the Avron B. Fogelman Professional Development Center, go to Step 2.
  7. Click on "Add Resume" to add your resume.
  8. Click on "Choose File" to select your document to upload.
  9. Label your document (Last Name, First Name) and click on "Upload" when complete.
  10. Once your resume has been reviewed, you will receive an email with the resume feedback attached.
  11. Make requested changes and resubmit your revised resume following the same process above.
  12. Once your resume has been approved, the status will show 'Approved'.
  13. Click 'View PDF' and save your approved resume to a preferred location (local or cloud drive).

Step 2: How to Add APPROVED Resume to TigerLink Profile

  1. Login to TigerLink at http://memphis-csm.symplicity.com with your UUID and password.
  2. From the Home page, select 'Documents' on the left navigation menu.
  3. Select 'Approved'.
  4. Click 'Add New'.
  5. Label your resume (Last Name, First Name) and select 'Resume' as Document Type.
  6. Select 'Choose File' and upload the approved PDF version of your resume.
  7. Click 'Submit'.
