The Biology Department will have a welcome meet/ greet with the freshman pre-bio students on Thursday Sept. 14th, 3-4pm in the Biology Undergraduate Study Center (BUSC), room 111 EH.

Friday September 22,  1:30 pm in SM 102

The Chemistry Department will have an ice-cream social planned in conjunction with our department seminar on Friday September 22, starting at 1:30 pm in SM 102.
The presentation will include a description of undergraduate research opportunities in the department.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is hosting an Open House Informational Session this Friday, September 15 from 12:45 - 2:00 pm in Dunn Hall 249. We will have food (including pizza). Fellow students, grad students, and faculty will be on hand to provide information about our programs. In particular you can learn why MATH and STAT majors are two of the most employable majors; about our Second Major for STEM students, which provides a streamlined method for getting two majors; and about our student organization, the Cantor Sect.

Current MATH majors are included in this invitation, please come by and take advantage of this networking opportunity (and free lunch!).

The Department of Physics and Materials Science is inviting incoming freshmen, transfer students and all physics majors for a warm welcome on Friday, September 22 from 1:00 to 2:30pm in Manning Hall's Auditorium (201). There will be pizza, refreshments and nitrogen ice cream. There will be a short presentation about the department's programs and opportunities. This is an informal event, and incoming students will have a chance to meet and network with faculty, other physics majors and graduate students.
