The purpose of the evaluation of Chairs and Directors within the College of Arts and Sciences is to determine the general effectiveness of department and program leadership. The evaluation may be used for matters related to promotion, financial remuneration, professional development leaves, and other routine and discretionary matters as determined by the Dean. All parties involved in evaluating chairs and directors agree to maintain confidentiality and anonymity in all phases of the assessment process. - Each chair will be appointed for a fixed term, subject to renewal based upon the cumulative annual evaluations and a more extensive evaluation during the last year of the term. more information
- The Dean will perform an annual evaluation and hold a planning session with each Chair and/or Director within the College at a confidential meeting during the months of March and April. more information
- If the Chair/Director is interested in continuing in his/her role, the Dean will perform a comprehensive review for the purpose of determining if the Chair/Director should be appointed for another term. more information
