The Pre-professional Advisor meets regularly with Pre-Health and Pre-Law students
throughout their college years to assist with career goals, long-term planning, and
professional school admissions procedures.
Students who intend to enter an allied health program at another institution after
completing the required prerequisite courses at The University of Memphis may choose
not to declare a departmental major. If so, the students should stop by Scates Hall
107 and declare their major as Pre-professional.
In this case, the Pre-professional Advisor will serve as the student's academic advisor
throughout his/her tenure at the U of M. The allied health programs include, but are
not limited to, the following:
- Cardio-Respiratory Care
- Cytotechnology
- Dental Hygiene
- Health Information Management
- Medical Technology
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
