CCFA takes great pride in its connections throughout the College across the University, as well as connections in the Memphis community. Collaboration is a very important component in today's academic world.

CCFA is fortunate to have many distinguished academic affiliates: our radio station WUMR; the The Daily Helmsman, U of M's campus newspaper, which is part of our Department of Journalism; and Memphis' city-wide high school newspaper The Teen Appeal, launched more than ten years ago through a collaboration between the Department of Journalism, the Scripps Howard Foundation, The Commercial Appeal (Memphis' daily newspaper), and Memphis City Schools. The Teen Appeal provides training ground for current and future students while engaging and enriching the campus and area communities.

The Marcus W. Orr Center for the Humanities, located in the College of Arts and Sciences, has supported and collaborated with CCFA in many ways, most notably by sponsoring lectures, discussions and lunch box performances in the Department of Theatre and Dance. Founded to encourage interdisciplinary humanities research and teaching, the Center's interest lies in building community through shared intellectual exchange.

Our community collaborations are numerous and include faculty research projects with student involvement, collaborations which organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Memphis chapter, Voices of the South Alumni Theatre Company as well as a long-standing partnership with our adopted schools: Overton High School and Colonial Middle School.
