The academic units of the College of Communication and Fine Arts consist of the Departments
of Architecture, Art, Communication, Journalism, Theatre and Dance, and the Scheidt
School of Music.
You will find that at times the Department of Architecture seems more like a cutting
edge architecture firm, where students work feverishly to complete a project; the
Department of Journalism like a newsroom full with future reporters, photographers,
and Internet or broadcast journalists, and that in the School of Music and the Department
of Theatre and Dance "all the world is a stage," or a recording studio or costume
shop.
Life-size sculptures, postcard-size paintings or images of ancient Egypt may greet
you in the halls of the Department of Art, and students analyzing political debates
in Rhetorical Studies courses can be found in the Department of Communication alongside
students behind humming cameras from the department's film and video production program.
All of our academic units are accredited and perform consistently with the highest
standards in their fields. We are proud to offer a depth of programs and concentrations,
and a faculty that is dedicated and well trained in the academic and artistic professions.
