Blue T.O.M. Records, University of Memphis student run record label, presented its first festival of the year with the Hear 901 Music Festival in April 2015. The event, held at the legendary New Daisy Theatre on Beale Street, gave audiences a full course of what Memphis music has to offer.

The music festival spotlighted music from various acts based in Memphis with local artists, many of whom were UofM students. Artists included Mary Owens, Drew Erwin, Mara Daniele, Mason Jar Fireflies, The Passport, Jeffery Jordan, Ben Callicott, Sleepwlkrs, Frank Shaw, Austyn Michael, Daughters and DJ Ben Murray. Hear 901 served as the album release show for Blue T.O.M.'s newest artist, Mary Owens who, according to the Memphis Flyer, has "a voice that hovers over the chords until it strikes like lightning." Backed by her grooving 12-piece band, Owens performed songs from her debut album, "Sweet Soul."
