Momentum, Spring Dance Concert

Momentum will include new work by U of M Dance faculty Mark Allan Davis, Angie Hollis, Moira Logan, Holly Lau, and Wayne Smith.
Memphis dance artist Ondine Geary will present the solo Rituals of Abundance for Lean Times # 4: Considering the Pelvis. Geary premiered the fourth installment of Peter Carpenter’s Rituals series at Chicago’s Other Dance Festival in September. Time Out Chicago named her one of the top ten best new dancers of 2011, noting that she “couldn’t have been more perfectly attuned to choreographer Peter Carpenter’s unique, text-heavy style.” Carpenter is a Chicago-based dance artist and associate professor of dance at Columbia College.
University of Memphis dance students will present A (not so little) Postlude by David Dorfman Dance, which premiered during Dorfman’s Prophets of Funk performance at the University of Memphis in November.
