The University of Memphis spring dance concert, Momentum, will showcase inspiring
contemporary choreography and continue the tradition of excellence and creativity
in dance at the University. Performances are at the U of M's Michael D. Rose Theatre
on April 12 and 14 at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Parking is available in the adjacent
parking garage on Zach Curlin.

Momentum will include new work by U of M Dance faculty Mark Allan Davis, Angie Hollis, Moira
Logan, Holly Lau, and Wayne Smith. Memphis dance artist Ondine Geary will present the solo Rituals of Abundance for Lean Times # 4: Considering the Pelvis. Geary premiered the fourth installment of Peter Carpenter’s Rituals series at Chicago’s Other Dance Festival in September. Time Out Chicago named her one of the top ten best new dancers of 2011, noting that she “couldn’t
have been more perfectly attuned to choreographer Peter Carpenter’s unique, text-heavy
style.” Carpenter is a Chicago-based dance artist and associate professor of dance
at Columbia College. University of Memphis dance students will present A (not so little) Postlude by David Dorfman Dance, which premiered during Dorfman’s Prophets of Funk performance at the University of Memphis in November.
