Requests, Meetings, and Recommendations

August 2011

Deans submit listing of all faculty applying for tenure and/or promotion to the Provost.

October 3, 2011

Unit heads and committees submit recommendations to College/School Committee

November 1, 2011

College/School Committees submit recommendations to Dean.

November 28, 2011

Required documents from the candidates' dossiers and recommendations of unite heads and committees, College Committees, and Deans is submitted to the Provost.
January 23, 2012 Candidates will be notified of the Provost's recommendation. Provost's recommendation will be forwarded to the President.
February 21, 2012 Candidates who receive a negative recommendation from the Provost must contact the chair of the Appeals Committee if they intend to appeal the recommendation.
March 30, 2012 Recommendations by the Appeals Committee are forwarded to the President for review. Candidates will be notified of the President's recommendation.

The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) will be notified of the President's recommendations.

TBR will review and vote on the University's recommendations during its June meeting. The University will be notified by TBR's decision around mid- July.

Once the University received TBR's decision, the President will notify the candidates.
September 1, 2012 Effective date of tenure and/or promotion for approved candidates.
