Allen H. Seed (Ph.D. Miami University) teaches courses in curriculum and middle school education. Prior to coming to the UofM he was an Associate Professor at Northern Kentucky University. Before he began working in higher education he was a middle school teacher in both public and private schools.
Dr. Seed's area of research and writing is focused on middle school education, experiential education, and teacher preparation. His work has focused on improving middle school education through block scheduling, empowering teachers, and literacy across the curriculum with his current area of interest in experiential education in middle schools and cohort and staff development. He has developed a new program for teacher education candidates that utilizes experiential learning to build cohorts.
In his spare time, Dr. Seed plays guitar and golf.
