Dr. Anderson is an Assistant Professor in the Elementary Education program in the Department of Instruction and Curriculum Leadership. She earned a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Memphis State University, an Ed.M. in Mathematics Education from Harvard University, and her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been co-Principal Investigator of the Teaching Algebra for Understanding (TAU) Project and the Memphis Mathematics and Science Partnership and is currently co-Project Director of the Delta Bridge Project at the University of Memphis. All three projects have focused on providing professional development opportunities for secondary mathematics teachers.

Dr. Anderson’s scholarship focuses on equity in mathematics education and the application of critical race theory to education.
