Kay C. Reeves is a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Memphis. Dr. Reeves teaches special education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, on campus and online.

Dr. Reeves serves as Principal Investigator (PI) on 4 grants: BASE-TN; Project Memphis; Regional Intervention Program (RIP); Special Education Institute.

She is the Special Education Program Coordinator in the Instructional and Curriuculum Leadership department.

She serves as faculty advisor to the Student Council for Exceptional Children as well as serving on the TN Board of Regents core narrative writing team and across campus committees.  

Dr. Reeves was previously an Assistant Professor at Mississippi University for Women, Mississippi where she taught graduate level courses in a Differentiated Instruction program.  She previously taught reading and math in a high school Special Education Resource program in Memphis, TN. Dr. Reeves has taught elementary age students in a Gifted and Talented program and 7th grade Social Studies in NC.

Research interests include: transition of students with mild learning disabilities into the workplace; teenagers with Asperger Syndrome and their social life perceptions; readability of materials for parents of children with special needs; and teacher education preparation programs.

Dr. Reeves received her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a Special Education concentration at The University of Memphis, Memphis, TN.

She served as Secretary for TN Council for Exceptional Children, 2006 and TN CEC Treasurer from 2007-2009.
