Dr. Murlasits' interest is skeletal muscle physiology/biochemistry with special emphasis on adaptations to resistance training.
He investigates the role of resistance training and nutritional supplementation in the attenuation of various muscle wasting conditions, such as cachexia and sarcopenia. He is also interested in statin-induced myopathy and the interactions of statin medications with skeletal muscle performance and adaptations to exercise training.
