The Friends of Chucalissa are a primary support organization for the C.H. Nash Museum
and the Chucalissa Archaeological Site. The Friends of Chucalissa have demonstrated
in a very real way their commitment to the Museum through their continued support.
With their help the Museum has been able to expand its programs and provide an improved
interpretive experience for all visitors.
Friends' $50,000 Gifts Aid Chucalissa's Outreach and Education
Over the past 10 years the Friends of Chucalissa have provided $50,000.00 in direct
financial support to the C.H. Nash Museum. The funds were used to help support our
events such as Powwows and our Annual 5k Relic Run. In addition the Friends defrayed
the cost of equipment for our audio tours, exhibit upgrades, and site promotional
materials. Through the financial support of the Friends of Chucalissa we are able
to offer the highest quality of interpretation and support.
In 2011 the Friends will undertake developing the plans for a reconstructed prehistoric
house atop the large Temple Mound at the Chucalissa site. Stay tuned for more details
on this exciting project. For more information about the Friends of Chucalissa visit
their website.
