Welcome to the dig site! On the left is a drawing of an excavated hill side. The different
colors of dirt show that there are many layers. Archaeologists call these layers stratifications.
More and more layers develop over time, so the oldest layers are at the bottom. Instructions: Search for artifacts in the excavation. Click on ones you find to see them up close and study them. Yes! These are REAL artifacts. If you want to see them and touch them, come to the C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa! |
