The Circulation Department maintains the University Libraries' 800,000+ volumes that can be checked out of the McWherter Library. Your University of Memphis ID, area college ID, or Special Privileges card is your only means of checkout or inquiry. You will receive three email reminders regarding the status of your checked-out materials. It is your responsibility to return books on time. You have a 3-day grace period, where no fines are applied until the 4th day. In addition to handling checkouts, renewals and returns, the Department also processes Special Privileges applications for high school, alumni, citizen and area college users. Interlibrary Loan materials are held at the Circulation Department; you must present your University ID for pickup.
