Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK)

The Chinese proficiency Test (HSK) is a series of tests which aim to assess the non-native speakers’ capabilities of applying Chinese language in study, life and work. It consists of HSK  Levels 1-6. At present there are 161 test centers in 38 countries. The Confucius Institute at the University of Memphis (CIUM) is the only test center in Tenessee. Business Chinese Test (BCT)

Business Chinese Test (BCT for short) is a state-level standardized test designed to assess the Chinese proficiency of non-native speakers engaged in business activities. BCT is developed by Peking University under the entrustment of Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban for short). Youth Chinese Test (YCT).

Youth Chinese Test, known as YCT, is an international Chinese test examining non-native primary and secondary school students' capability in applying Chinese language in their studies, personal lives, and work. It is chiefly patterned to target the non-native speakers, specifically, to activate their enthusiasm in learning Chinese, improve communication skills in Chinese, foster a sense of language as well as Chinese thinking mentality, and in the course of time to increase confidence and obtain a sense of honor in learning the language.

Registration can be completed at Hanban website and/or at the office of CIUM.The deadline for registration is 28 days before each of the test dates. Inquiries about the tests will be welcomed in any of the manners, such as, by email, by phone, and/or by drop-in.
