Many chapters of the ACJA have Crime Scene Investigation Teams. There are some variations but the basic idea is that teams of students compete against each other to investigate mock crime scenes. There is an educational component as teams are trained in various topics of forensics and investigations through courses available in the department but also through special lectures and demonstrations.

At this point, I’m trying to determine if there is any interest in developing this idea at the University of Memphis. Another major determination will be whether or not there are people willing to take a lead on organizing students, guests, and events.
