WELCOME
Welcome to the Memphis Music Camp!  We are thrilled that you have considered joining us for a portion of your summer.  It is our mission to provide quality instruction, an artistically stimulating environment, and an opportunity for young musicians to have fun and make new friends.

Along with large band and orchestra ensembles, you will be able to participate in masterclasses, private lessons, chamber ensembles, and musicianship classes.  Our summer faculty is made up of distinguished teachers, performers and conductors throughout the Mid-South region.  All are ready to keep you motivated and engaged.  Come out and join us for the week.  We would love to see you!

STRING CAMP (Violin, Viola, Cello, String Bass, Harp) Fifth Grade & Up
Large Orchestra, Small Ensembles, Sectionals, Musicianship Classes.

BAND CAMP (Woodwind, Brass, Percussion)
Sixth Grade & Up – Must have completed one full year of beginning band.
Concert Band, Chamber Ensembles, Small Instrumental Ensembles, Sectionals, Musicianship Classes.

REGISTRATION
The Memphis Music Camp does not require an audition for admission.  A $50.00 non-refundable registration fee is required at the time of registration.  All camp registrations paid in full by May 1 will receive a $25 early bird discount off the camp tuition.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are available at the additional charge of $30.00 per 30 minute lesson ($60 per one hour). Tuition rates for Scheidt School of Music faculty vary. Please call the CMS office at 901-678-4244 for rates.  All levels of instruction are available from beginning through advanced.  This is an excellent opportunity to refine your playing skills and/or try out a new instrument.  Instructors are distinguished School of Music faculty members and area music professionals.

LIVING ON CAMPUS
Housing will be provided through The University of Memphis Residence Life and Conference Housing Services.  Each room is air-conditioned.  Telephone and Ethernet connections are available upon request.  Pay phones and laundry facilities are easily accessible.  Housing will be for 5 days and 4 nights (Monday-Friday).  The meal plan will include 4 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners.  Students should provide their own linens, pillows, towels, washcloths and blankets.
