Cap, Gown and Pronouncer Card Pick Up Information

Day: Friday, August 10, 2012

Times: 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Location: Memphis Room, located in the University Center, 3rd Floor

At cap and gown, you will receive your pronouncer card (these cards MUST come with you at Commencement in order to participate. Please remember to hold on to it and bring it with you on graduation day).

Undergraduates ONLY with honors listed in the program (summa, magna and/or cum laude):  

You will NOT pick up your honor cords until graduation day. They will be in your lineup. No other student organizations or honor societies' cords and stoles are provided by the Commencement Office. All additional cords and stoles must be purchased by the individual through their own organization. Please refer to our Cord/Stole Policy on what is and what is not allowed. Click here.

If you are unable to make it, you may send someone on your behalf. Please email your name and the name of the person picking up materials to the Commencement Office.

Please see below for more information regarding graduation day:

• Parking is available in the FedExForum garage for a charge of $5.00 per vehicle for the event. Please allow ample time to find the Arena and wait in line to enter the parking garage. There will be heavy traffic in the downtown area. Please plan accordingly. For more information on different parking options, please click. 

• Doors open 1 hour prior to the ceremony. Students are required to arrive one hour prior to the ceremony. Guests are allowed in at this time too.

• Arrive 1 hour prior to your ceremonyand make your way down to the Event Level, where you will line up with your respective College (please follow the signage). Your College Faculty and Student Marshals will assist you with lining up within your degree program, and you should have a number on your Pronouncer Card indicating your place in line.  Your Marshals will provide you with further instructions on the procession, as well as provide earned Honor Cords. Leave personal belongings with family or friends. We cannot hold items and would not suggest you leave them unattended.  You must bring cash to pay for parking.

• ALL Undergraduates MUST complete an Attendance Card by the deadline. Click here.
• Masters, Doctoral and Specialists must submit regalia to the Graduate School, please visit the Graduate School’s web site, by the deadline.
• ALL Students must complete either the Undergraduate (click here) or Graduate Graduation Checklist (click here). Please read all information and submit all forms required by the deadline.

Commencement Photographs

Graduation Images will be photographing all graduates at the upcoming graduation ceremony. Visit the web site, www.gradimages.com, and click on the Pre-Event e-mail Registration, to register your e-mail address. You will also receive an e-mail link and free passport-sized digital proofs of your photos within 3 to 7 days following the ceremony. After graduation, you may order online at www.gradimages.com or call 800-424-3686.
