About Tony Poteet
Tony Poteet graduated from Cleveland State Community College in 1980 with an Associate
of Applied Science; the University of Memphis (then Memphis State University) in 1983
with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology; and in 1995 he received his
Master's degree in City and Regional Planning. In 1997 he became a member of the American
Institute of Certified Planners. Tony began his career with the University in 1984
as the Assistant to the Director of Physical Plant and Planning. In addition, he has
served as the Manager for Facilities Planning and Design (FPD). A reorganization of
Physical Plant and Planning in 1997 resulted in the creation of a new department,
Campus Planning and Design, with Tony becoming the Assistant Vice President for Campus
Planning and Design.
